"I just bought a a 1992 Yamaha 9.9 4 stroke electric start High Thrust outboard that starts but will not pump water out. Water pump\impeller just replaced by dealer - no change. He suggested the head may be corroded, and wanted another $500 to try that. If I take the head off, what would be a good method for cleaning the corrosion? If you recommend trying something else first, I'm all ears. btw, I'm an outboard repair novice. Thanks!"
