"I just bought a boat the other day and it has a 2003 4 stroke yamaha 60 on it. I have have a few boats, but never a four stroke. The motor cover is stuck for some reason and I'm afraid I may brake it if I pry on it to try to get it off. I want to check the oil and everything before I take it out and run it all day. Also anything I should look for that may not be right or may be a sign of future dammage.
My main concern is seeing if anyone has any tips for me on maintaining this motor and keeping it in good shape. The previous owner is suppose to go through his files and find the manuals for me, but Im not sure that he ever will.
I fish in saltwater (and brackish bay water) only, any tips and/or recomendations would be greatly appreciated."
