I'm about to purchase either a 1989 25hp Nissan or a 1985 25hp Merc ...both appear to be in very good shape and well serviced....my question is ...what is the more dependable motor...from what I've read in the forums, the Nissan isn't produced anymore..

any and all advice is greatly appreciated.

Neither one is available in the U.S. due to EPA regulations. The Nissan is superior in every respect.
