"This engine was submerged in

"This engine was submerged in fresh water, plugs taken out, oil replaced several times, and I cleaned out fuel lines and carburator. I don't know what this engine should have, but when checked had 115psi and 117 psi compression. The plugs seem to get wet with fuel, but the engine will just backfire now and then when trying to start and it does have elec. start. When the plugs are held against a bolt I see small blue sparks, but I dont know if they are strong enough or timed right. Any Ideas on what to check would be great. Thanks Bill"

Look for a broken flywheel key

Look for a broken flywheel key or a bad trigger coil...But taking it to a dealer would be the smartest thing you could do.

"Thank you Tohatsu Guru, Wow!

"Thank you Tohatsu Guru, Wow! That was great advice when you stated that the flywheel key could be sheared. I thought that would be likely if the cylinder had water when turned over. Sure enough the key was sheared. I am trying to avoid the dealers service and your advice ROCKS Thanks again! Bill"
