"<font color=""0000ff""> I have two 200HP Yamaha's had them rebuilt a year ago,they ran well for a while, now I have a blown head gasket, and a scored cylinder. Just when is the time to put in the towel or do people just keep on rebuilding them.I live in San Francisco, a place not to be caught with out power, I get so many different answers.I can't afford new engines for 35k for heaven sake, used I am on ebay looking at 10 -20k.. any and all help is appreciated very much.. </font>"

"I've had motors rebuilt several times, it depends on the duty cycle (how hard you run them). If th work is solid, a rebuilt engine is just as good as any.

a year is a little short thought, I may speak to the owner of the shop you got the rebuild at and try and work out a deal.....if they are a reputable shop and want the repeat business, they may work with you.

(What water would be good to get caught without a motor?)"

sounds like they only fixed the piston and did not do a complete tear down to find the problem
