1979 Johnson 55HP will only crank at full throttle

This motor has set up for 5 ye

This motor has set up for 5 years. Cleaned it up to start using. Started up engine with new fuel line and gas can. Engine ran at idol for 5 minutes then went dead. Now it will only crank on full throttle. Took carbs off and cleaned really good. Installed back on without using a kit of any kind everything looked good. Still does the same thing. Any help will be great

What do you mean "crank at

What do you mean "crank at full throttle?" Crank usually means the starter is turning the motor. Are you saying it will only start at full throttle?
 
Checked the spark at each plug

Checked the spark at each plug. Spark was weak and sometime none at all. Replaces power pack and both coils. Fired up first time and has not missed a beat since. Thinks for the information.
