Hi:
I'm wondering if anyone knows how tight to do the propellor nut up to on a 8 hp yamaha?
Will it matter since it doesn't seem to drive up on a taper or thrust plate?
Also would anyone have a idea as to the gph or kpg(knot) rating of this motor pushing a 4350 lb sailboat?

"You don't have to torque

"You don't have to torque the prop nut - "just" tight is fine.

Running your motor wide open will burn a little under 1 gallon per hour, but will probably only push your sailboat along at maybe 3-5 mph under quite calm conditions (my best guess)
