"I have a 1959 Johnson 18 hp (FD-13)I can get the motor started after about 60 pulls maybe more. I prime the primer button until its very firm I then pull and pull and pull, it eventually starts. Throuhout the day the motor starts fine. I let the motor sit a week or so and its the same. (had the motor serviced, coils were replaced and I was told its good to go) Getting sore arm and shoulder. Thanks in advance"
 
I learned the hard way not to

I learned the hard way not to assume all is good after service. Pull the flywheel and double check the repairs and make sure the points are set correctly.

Also clean the carburetor.

"hello, i am having a hard time figuring out why my 1998 15hp electric start outboard will not allow fuel to get to the carb. i have purchased a new fuel hose and tank. when i pressurize the ball i do not hear fuel going into the carb as usual. i can however prime the cylinders and the motor will start and run. not the easist way to to go. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks}"
