Boat cut out and fuel coming out of carb

"just got my boat on the water

"just got my boat on the water had a couple of hours of trouble free motoring then just as i started returning to the mooring the engine cut out as if i had run out of fuel. found that ther was fuel comming out of the carb where it meets the top of the block?, boat then did not restart and ended up getting towed back!
any comments ?

just as a reference point the boat had been standing for a couple of years pre launch, had a once over with a main dealer and was just fine untill today!

fuel seems to be getting to the carb just fine! eithr too much or non getting in?

Many things to check - among t

Many things to check - among them are:
Air leak/gasket seal at carbuerater mount.
Float stuck or level needs adjustment.
Choke gummed up or stuck.
Flame arrestor/air filter needs cleaning/replacement as appropriate.

"It's inside the carb. If the dealer didn't already do it, you might want to have them do a carb rebuild. Since the boat sat for years the carb probably has a family of spiders calling it home."

That will require removing the top cover of the carb to get to the bowl to check for crud and the condition of the needle and seat.
