"Standing in back of the engine, facing it, "Port" is to the left.

Look on the port side of the engine right where the powerhead is bolted to the long exhaust housing. Back in those days, the model number was imprinted right into the metal housing.

If it's there, what is it?"

the only number i could find is a J-1 next to the spark plug, nothing where thr power head bolts on. paul"
