"I'm looking for info on this problem with Marine Power big and small block inboards. The valve overlap block design allows moisture/water to be sucked back in and deposited on exposed valve/valve seats, eventually leading to engine failure. Other manufacturers using the GM blocks have fixed this through design. My understanding is that, to date, Marine Power has not. I am hesitant to purchase a boat with these engines. Info on the problem and these engines is available on the internet, but I don't see that they have offered a design fix."
