i have a 55hp yamaha 1980s sta

i have a 55hp yamaha 1980s starts first time but when i run on high revs then throttle back she dies ithen have to prime the fuel again anyone have any ideas

"1 is new the other i dont know ,i am going to bypass the male fitting going into engine housing and go straight onto fillter to see if it is drawing air"
