"Howdy! My '92 15 hp elect

"Howdy! My '92 15 hp electric start has a neutral switch that won't make contact until it is deeply depressed - too far for the gearshift lever cam to make it function. Before I try to take apart the switch and start playing around I'm wondering if I'd be just wasting my time - has this been a problem with these switches and should I just go ahead and buy a new one? Opinions?
Lucky for me, it fires on the 1st or 2nd pull, so even my kids don't really care if the electric start works... Thanks!"

"Thanks for the response jwb, but I should have mentioned it's already at the top of the adjustment... and still needs to go another 1/4" or more to function. I don't know about twisting/bending the bracket, but that would certainly solve the problem."
