"Howdy all. I'm new to the board and I'm hoping someone can give me a hand. I'm performing some repairs on my 2000 60HP Johnson (3 cylinder two-stroke), and my Seloc manual is lacking quite a bit of info. I'm removing the lower unit and I'm not sure if the tranny should be in Neutral, Reverse or Forward when removing and re-installing the lower unit. The Seloc manual simply states "Disconnect the shift rod". Does anyone know what gear it should be in, or if it doesn't matter?"
