"HELP!I'm in need of some advice. I'm thinking of selling my 93 245 Vista and I'm looking at a 93 270 Tiara. Love the boat but I'm a little confused about the running gear. Its powered by twin 5.7 liter engines and Yahama outdrives. I'm told the outdrives are discontinued. I've never heard of any problems with the outdrives, but I havent known anyone thats owned one. If they are junk, is there a bolt on replacement? The last thing I need is more outdrive problems. I've had to replace two OMC lower units it the past two years."

"I have a 4.3 yamaha sterndrive on a 20ft Chapparal, Never had any trouble with the drive. I am a little concerned about parts if I do need them in the future but am assured by Capt ken that parts are still avaliable. If I had it to do over again I would stay clear of the Yamaha just for the replacement parts and down time in getting them."
