I have a 2006 Tahoe Q4 4.3 It has been dieseling ever since it was new. I have had the service dealer look at it numerous times and they have adjusted the carb a time or two. It hasn't helped a bit. Is there anyone with an answer as to what could be the problem

"high idle rpm,hi engine temp,

"high idle rpm,hi engine temp,retarded timing,carbon build-up,
Try letting it fast idle a few minutes before shutting it off to disipate the built up heat."

I was thinking timing as well.

"depends on the type of ign yo

"depends on the type of ign you have. Some use "Base Timing mode" where you shunt the dist, set the timing mark, remove the shunt.
Some T-Bolts have it and some you set like a car.
Engine serial number would help"
