"I have an '84 bf75 that i got in not-running condition (hey - it was free).
I took the carb apart, fully cleaned and soaked it in varsol and put in a new main jet.
The fuel pump works, and there is good spark, but the engine won't stay running. The only way to keep it running is to constantly feather the choke.
This leads me to believe it is still a fuel/carb problem, but i would also like to check the timing as I have no idea if it is correct.
Can someone give me some directions as to how to do this?
Cheers"

Try removing the small filter

Try removing the small filter in your fuel pump on the back of the cylinder head. Its behind the flat blade screw cap on fuel pump. It is most likely clogged with crapp.
