going to bolt up rebuit gimbal assy to stern of boat what sealent is best on gsket. boatlife silicone or calking??

"I always use a product called sikaflex. Wonderfull stuff for any bedding application, thru hulls, transom shields, etc."

"I like the Mercruiser product Perfect Seal. Its also a Permatex product. Its basically a brush in a can of non hardening permatex. Or you can use the 3M 5200. Its designed for above and below waterline. Always be carful of silcones, most of them will fail below waterline."
