"hi everyone!Dissassembling mo

"hi everyone!Dissassembling motor as we speek,had found alot of water in the oil,so far one side down to the block(no sign of crack or bad gasket yet.still have to remove other side exhaust manifold,head.If crack in block found,how hard is it to remove motor from rear drive so I could install new motor?Any help would be greatly appreciated."

"you don`t remove the motor from the drive ,you remove the drive from the motor first.Install the new motor, check engine alignment.Install drive."

"Is there a picture available showing what is actually between the motor and outdrive,as than I could better understand the coupling,how it works,what it looks like,how everything ties in together.It is a little hard to see everything from inside the boat.Thanks again for your help"

A Mercruiser manual would be a great help. Other manuals would be beneficial.

As BD said you remove

As BD said you remove the drive leg first.
The motor sits on two front mounts as well as two rear lugs that sit on the transom assembly. The latter stays fastened to the boat.

Two bolts at the rear lugs plus the two front mounts and she is able to be hoisted out.
