"Just purchased a 5 hp Yamaha model No.5CM8 serial No.6E3S025697S didn't get an owners manual with it. My question is, does the symbol 100-1 on the front of the motor mean that the fuel mixture is 100 to 1 ?

"yes.
it means 100:1 fuel oil

"yes.
it means 100:1 fuel oil ratio

however, you should run-in a NEW engine in on 50:1

they run perfectly well on 50:1 if you want to be safe, it's default in our 2-stroke tank.
