"I have a 19ft chrysler bowrid

"I have a 19ft chrysler bowrider with a 318 engine and chrysler 300 sterndrive,circa 1977. Unfortunately, the 318 was totally wrecked. A friend is giving me a 215hp Merc engine. Will this be compatible? Can I use a Merc engine on a chrysler 300 sterndrive?"
