Recomended max and min engine size

"Just bought 68 17 ft sportcraft fiberglass boat walkthough windshield trihull, cant find the cg sticker on it,I was wondering what would be the min engine size and still get acceptable speed. and also the max engine recommeded for this type of boat, will use for fishing a few miles out in the gulf,Two people and light gear. Acceptable speed would be maybe 25 to 30 mph.

"Somewhere around 90HP would do the trick, in NZ we'd put up to 140HP on that sorta boat. I wouldn't go below 80HP personally."

I had a tri-hull that looked just like that (same size and era too) I had a 75HP Mercury on the back and that thing would get up and go right out of the hole. Top speed about 35 MPH. I would tend to say somewhere in that range would be a safe bet.
