I have a 84 J

"Hi everyone,

I have a 84 Johnson 70Hp model # J70TLCRD. I just diassemble the carb to rebuilt it but ran into a question. The diagram show that the low speed idle adjustment require part # 27 Orific-idle, # 25 washer, # 26 Screw and also # 30 Retainer, # 31 Needle Valve. I opened up the card idle screw and it only has the orifice, washer and screw. Does not have the needle valve and washer ( # 30 and # 31 ). Can anyone verify what is correct. Am i missing anything from the carb or the diagram is also for other year and HP. Please help. Thanks

That is the common diagram for

That is the common diagram for motors.Your motor does not have an adjustable idle needle.As you can see from the diagram it is for different models but the repair kit is the same.Part 30 and 31 do not apply to your motor.
