"I've made one of the MEFI 3 connectors that jumps A/B and has the LED in E/F. I was able to verify my timing with it and see there are no codes being thrown.

My question is: Can the boat be run under load with this connector on? If I'm trying to rule out a bad sensor or bad signal, is this a valid test? I'm assuming the answer is no but I thought I would throw it out there.

Thanks for any info.

Please use the same post for our reference until you solve the problem.

Bondo, Jon et al:

After reading all of his postings I think his engine is running fine and his problem is an exhaust blockage issue. Just my thoughts."

"I also reread Jon's posts, and I agree that;

1) Running under load in base timing mode is not a valid test for anything, don't do it

2) Symptoms are consistant with exhaust restriction, check for a dropped exhaust shutter (especially if this problem started after an overheat incident)
