"Hey guys,
I want to say thanks again for the info regarding my question about the oil dipstick on my 77 Searay with 888, found where it is suppose to go and it was sealed up so I had to order a new oil pan with accessories. My next question I have is I cannot get my speedometer to work. I've check all of the wires cleaned them, tried a new gauge but it still doesn't work. Is there something that I'm missing? Any help is appreciated.

"speedo input is a small hose. reads pressure from pitot tube on transom. make sure hose is open, no kinks in line. also check pitot tube for obstruction. use air to test."
 
SS is right. Save some time a

SS is right. Save some time and just change the 31 yr. old hose; dirt cheap. Smear a TINY and THIN dab of spark plug boot grease on the speedo. nipple for annual hose removal to allow any water in the line out.
