I was looking at buying a 87 johnson 150 but when I had them do a compression test they showed all between 80 and 85 psi. Motor had not been run in 6 months. They didn't run it to warm it up and didn't push the throttle forward. They just pulled plugs and put the guage on it. Would it be higher if they had run it because maybe the cylinders were dry from sitting for so long? Thanks

"Normally that engine reads approximately 95 on the starboard bank and 90 on the port bank when properly lubricated from running. Your readings are fairly close especially for not being run in six months.

However, before making that purchase, it would be a good idea to have it run, then re-checked."
