wire going to dist. that attac

wire going to dist. that attaches to the points is getting so hot it melts. What is causing this wire to get so warm? The motor is a AQ140
 
Did you replace the coil latel

Did you replace the coil lately? Some coils require external ballast and some do not. You might have the wrong coil.

"If it is not the coil (as Eddie suggested), my guess is sticky points or a shorted capacitor. You may want to get rid of points and condenser, then install a Pertronix electronic ignition kit and your problem will be over forever."

Thanks Guys! I am going to replace the coil and put in a pertronix system. Hope this helps I am just getting discourged chasing this wiring problem.
