Alpha 1 and Alpha 1 gen II are they compatible

Will the alpha 1 gen 2 fit int

Will the alpha 1 gen 2 fit into the same
coupler and outdrive assembly.

Is it plug-n-play....

Looking for a backup outdrive... Got quite a few
on craigslist and ebay.... Need to understand
the differences.

The eng is a 350 1.5 gear ratio on the existing
alpha 1 that I have. Need a spare and could likely
find one pretty cheap...

Any info is appreciated...

Of course, knowing that Gen II has bolts holding it together and Gen I has studs, as Scott pointed out, doesn’t require pictures to be consulted, and I'll be looking at that ain the future… but also, knowing that the pre-Alphas have that lifting eye helps differentiate between those and the Alpha I units."

Picking up the new/used outdrive tomorrow

Its in like new condition $500... I will drain
the fluid on the spot to make sure.

My existing one still functions but it will become
the spare. Its pretty beatup and with the new
engine going in I'm concerned about it living
thru the HP upgrade the new engine will have.

If and when I sell the boat I should get back
the money or atleast 1/2... I'm niave right...

I better catch a lot of fish this year to lower
the average cost per fish...
