"Im looking at mercruiserparts

"Im looking at mercruiserparts.com and I'm having some trouble navigating the site to find the right inpeller for my motor. I know I have a 1979 mercruiser 140 serial number starts with 51544.
I'm new to all this motor boat stuff so I'm not familiar with all of the part names yet. I'm a sail boat convert.

What I really need right now is the impeller and the bolt/washer/rubber grommet thing that goes on the top of the trim cylinder.
They fell off last time I was trailering it home.
Any help as to the right parts page for this motor?

"Kevin;
That is definitely the pre-Alpha model 1, or "R" drive. There are lots of them around, they were used from about 1970 thru 1983. Good old workhorse.
It should be a 1.98 ratio. That will be stamped somewhere near the serial no.

I just ordered a manual to help me out but would like to have some parts on the way as well.

"So when I see things like this on the parts list
46-96148A5,46-60367A1
is that a range of serial numbers that part covers?
and if so then what does 18-3320 refer to?
Or should I just shut up and wait for the manual?

"Try not to read too much into the #s. The 1st 2 #s are Mercruiser part #s while the 18-3320 is a Sierra part #. You want 18-3319 which is a complete upper/lower kit by Sierra for $36.
