50 l BIII Operating parameters

I don't have an operation

I don't have an operation manual yet so I would like some input on temps and oil pressure ranges on the 5.0l BIII. On my sea trial we saw 170 on water temp and 38 to 42 psi on oil

Depending on How it's set up,....
Temps should be between 140°/ 160° for a Raw water cooled system,...
And,... 180°/ 190° for a Closed cooling system....

Oil pressure should be atleast 10psi. per 1000rpms for Chevy motors...."
 
Bondo is correct and hope you

Bondo is correct and hope you have a great time with the new boat.You might want to watch where the temp goes up and then drops back a bit.This will give you a close idea what degree thermostat is inside if you do not know for sure yet.This would be the point where it opens letting the colder water enter...Todd
