"I am replacing my entire raw water pump (Bravo 1, 7.4 L) for spring p.m. In the past I just changed out impellers. I bought a new Mercruiser pump that apparently uses a "newer" one-piece design that eliminates the separate end cap. There are no stainless steel end plates. Will I see any increase in wear with this design? I will hang on to the old one as a spare."
