I am trying to remove the driv

I am trying to remove the drive shaft from my motor. I have removed the impellor but the shaft will not pull out. I thought it should pull free after the impellor is removed. What am I missing?

I have removed the impellor and plate from my 1984 15hp Johnson but the drive shaft will not come out. I have put the shaft in a vise and hit the lower unit - it doesn't budge. Nay suggestions.

I cannot comprehend a driveshaft sticking as you describe on a 1984 15hp Evinrude or Johnson. What is the model number of that engine?

I have come across this once in my time where the customer forgot to fill oil and the shaft 'welded' itself to the pinion!
 
I got the shaft out it had a r

I got the shaft out it had a rough spot below the bearing. I removed the axle seals clamped the shaft in a vise and pounded the unit with a mallot. Bearing seems to be fine.

Any possibility that lower unit has been bent somehow? Is the driveshaft straight/true?
