"I am trying to find out what the basic settings are for the needle valves in the calibration pockets of my 1996 150hp johnson, model J150ELEDB. Mechanic told me 5 turns from full seat, but he quoted this from memory, didn't consult a manual, and sells more Yamahas than he does OMC's. These elements led me to be somewhat skeptical about his expertise. I have read many knowledgeable posts from Joe Reeves, and hope he reads this. Yes, I should buy the manual, but at this point I want to make sure I am not running a lean machine on the way to an overhaul."
