HI JUST GOT A 1986 30HP EVNIRUDE WHAT TYPE OF GEAR LUBE SHOULD I USE IN THE LOWER END WHAT BRAND AND WEIGHT IS GOOD. THANKS
 
Use a Marine rated (GL-5&#

Use a Marine rated (GL-5) gear oil (may be straight 90 weight or 80-90 etc) put out by either the MFG's or any of the aftermarket brands. Just don't use Type "C" which is for electric shift OMC's.

Personally wouldn't waste my money on synthetic - just change it once a year like you should. I've been running Walmart's store brand for the past 10 years or so with no problem...
