"This fitting is located on the starboard side of my 1989 AQ131C block near the bellhousing. It appears to have a hose barb on it. Does the B230 block have a coolant passage fitting at this location?

"Mike, could it be a badly corroded water/coolant drain valve for de-watering the block for freezing temp. storage? or maybe an wrecked oil pressure sender? Your manual should tell you what's there, and I am sure someone with the answer will reply on here soon.

"Matt, It's definitely not the oil pressure sender - that's farther forward, near the oil filter (out of view to the right). I'd guess it's related to coolant drain but it's not plugged and I've not seen anything come out of it, although I've never tried to turn it."

"I have the same fitting in my 4 cyl. for the coolant. It is a two part drain cock, if you loosen the outer section with the hose fitted end the engine coolant will drain out."
