"I have a 1993 115hp Evinrude

"I have a 1993 115hp Evinrude that is going on a 2004 Lund. I have controls from a 2000 90hp Evinrude that I would like to use. I also need to buy gauges.

In researching this I believe I need an adapter from the motor to the controls, correct?

I'm also assuming any relatively new gauges for an OMC would work with the newer controls on this setup.

Is my line of thinking correct or am I missing something?

Thanks, CRF"

"Christian, When you say cont

"Christian, When you say controls you really mean wiring harness, corect? The control cables and levers should work fine. The older style wiring harness had a single red plug, whereas the newer style wiring harness have about three plugs that connect inside the motor's shroud. If your motor has the multiple connectors, you might be OK. If not, you will need an adaptor.

Unfortunately I do not know if an adapter exists.

Gauges will be compatable between years. The newer OMC models have a 8 pin DIP connector that connects to a "System Check Tachometer". You may also use a standard tacho with the normal wiring harness."
