"I have a 1996 Johnson 9.9, model J10REDD. The motor will be running fine at full throttle and then, without any change to the controls, bog down as though it were at low throttle, and vice versa: throttle wide open bogged down and then start kickin' like a race horse [it's on a 14' jon boat]. Carburetor is clean as a whistle and rebuilt fuel pump; fuel inlet screen is clean. Suspect something in the electronic ignition. Any ideas on how to test?"
