"Just found this site and new to I/O. Previous boat I had was OB.

Anyway, I read a couple post regarding trim, but not enough to answer my question.

Like an earlier post, trailer button works and brings outdrive up, but when I lower it, it goes down a little (~inch or two), then stops going down. The motor sounds like it's trying to lower, but it always stops.

Any help is appreciated.

Check the pump&#

Check the pump's Oil Level,...
Grease ALL of the outdrive's pivot points....
And,....
Have somebody Jump on the drive as the Lower Button is being pushed......

These systems create Alot of Up pressure,+ very little Down pressure.....
Gravity,+ the thrust of the prop provide most of the Down pressure....."
 
If you take the trim cyliders

If you take the trim cyliders off at end of the outdrive and see if you full movement.

Thats where i would start.

Pick your out drive up and down manually and check how free it moves.

Then you can tell if hydraulics of not.

Then run your cylinders in and out while they disconnected.

"Okay. Found the problem. The port side hydro arm is stuck. The other arm can raise and lower it, but the the port side is stuck fully extended.
Is there a way to salvage it or am I stuck with replacing it??"
