I'M A NEWBIE. JUST STARTED ON A 62 283 CHRIS CRAFT. BEEN READING ALL THIS GREAT STUFF! ANYBODY GOT ANY PLANS FOR A FRESH WATER COOLING SYSTEM?

"The problem is rust inside the motor. Unless you're using a new motor, you'll have to constantly drain and clean the heat exchanger or it will plug up.
It's been done, and done can buy rust solution cleaners, but it's a crap shoot.

"BOY JEFF YOU ARE QUICK. I'M REBUILDING THE ENGINE, AND IT IS GOING BACK IN THE BAY. JUST THOUGHT THAT ANTIFREEZE WOULD BE A GOOD IDEA. THINKING MAYBE A HEATER CORE OR RADIATER IN A TANK OF PUMPED RAW WATER. FIGURE IF I THOUGHT OF IT SOMEBODY ELSE MUST HAVE ALREADY DONE IT."
