"Any good? compared to what? J

"Any good? compared to what? Just as well built as any of the competition.

Drawbacks - it's a very big 2 stroke so it guzzles gas, it weighs about 500 pounds with the gearcase full of oil and the prop attached - that's the equivalent of adding two rather large adults to your boat - and at wot will probably burn at least 15 gallons per hours (that's 45 bucks an hour in the US or 60 if you live north of the border like I do - won't even talk about Europe)

But if your rig needs 200 horses, you could do worse...

Bigger question, since this is used - how was taken care of? regular service or neglected. "How many hours" is not a good test of things. It's 12 years old, I would expect 600 hours on a frequently used motor. If it is significantly less (ie. 100 or 200 hours) that means it's spent most of it's time sitting idle - that could equate to "not used much so why bother to service it"...."
