What is the difference between

What is the difference between a 40 hp E Tec and a 60 hp E Tec? If the warranty is expired it should be able to up the horsepower in the engine? Thank you.

"While their specs are all the same - the cylinder head/crankcase is a different part number than on the 40/50 (which uses the same one).

Just guessing here, but assume the only difference between the 40 and the 50 is the programming of the computer. And since it is illegal to increase the horsepower of a motor you may be hard pressed to find a BRP dealer willing to re-program (if that's all that is required)...."
