Just impeller or is More Needed

"I have a 1995 Johnson 50hp model #J50BELEOD. I wish to change the impeller before the season gets started but wanted to know if this one part is all I need or do I need other parts(gaskets etc.) Also, should the thermostat be replaced and if so where is it located on this particular motor?"

"I would recommend to check the vernaterm, pos 18 on the pick, the pin has a tendency of getting stuck. Carefully pull it out, clean and add some grease (not at the end!!)and reinstall."
