Motor jumps out of gear

25hp tiller handle..jumps out

25hp tiller handle..jumps out of gear at high rpms...i replaced the lower unit with one i know is good...same unit number ran it for 20 hours last year..put it on the 25 and it still jumps out of gear

The threaded holes on the shift brass connector must be aligned with the grooves in the lower and upper shift rods.

Align gooves with holes, insert bolt and screw in to a point where the rod can still be moved slightly within the brass connector.

Apply a slight pressure so that one of the rods is snugly against the bolt threads, then tighten the bolt securely. Repeat this procedure on the other rod."
