BF99 ShiftStart Problem

"My engine only starts in forw

"My engine only starts in forward gear. If it's in neutral, the rope won't budge and the electric start does nothing. I also think I had a reverse shift problem one time (though I didn't try to duplicate it).

Is there a shift rod adjustment or something? I am new to the motor."

Thanks for the help. Any pointers towards isolating it to the nss? I couldn't find any posts that might help me debug and repair this.
