I am trying to identify the en

I am trying to identify the engine in my 26 ft Campion. It is a smallblock GM with the valve cover bolts down the middle of it. The boat is a 79 so I know it didn't come with this.The casting # behind the drivers side head is 57LG SGI and the serial # in front of the passenger side head is V04064MB.Thanks for any help.

You're looking in the right Neighborhood, but that's the Wrong #....."

Me too. The casting # says flat tappet or roller and 2 or 4 bolt main. Really tells you nothing.

The Block Casting were designed for Rollers in 1987,....
'course that doesn't mean they were Installed, But they Can Be...."

3&5 posts up. 87 - 95 350.

3&5 posts up. 87 - 95 350. Nothing special but an upgrade from the original. I'll do a compression check after I have it running. I have another boat with a rebuilt drivetrain that I can swap in if I have to. I'm going to use the outdrive and gimbal because the Campion was left in the water and corroded to pieces.
