Lower unit removal 1977 200 Johnson

I want to remove the lower uni

I want to remove the lower unit ...I have all of the bolts removed and it is hanging on the shaft I believe. I know it must be connected to the shift lever under the carbs but it appears that it has a pin or something connecting it to the shaft. I can not easily see how to remove the pin...any ideas?

I am waiting for my my manual (maybe a couple of days)..

"there is a --5/8 bolt,let the 2 halves sep and rod comes down,loosen the 3/8 nut up,back the 5/8 almost all the way,..or out,..u r just trying to let the pin that holds the rod,slip out...i was mistaken on other post."

It's dark in there. You have to go on faith and what jwb said. done mine twice and was successful both times. A little tedious.

"Thanks guys...I found the larger bolt and lowered the unit. Now I will try to separate the power head from the chassis....any advice will be appreciated....
