having trouble with fuel pump.

having trouble with fuel pump...fitted new kit..still runs out of fuel...underneath the pump is a small hole into crank case ..it has a thread ...should any thing screw into this ? perhaps a valve or a venturer...i never took this to bits so i dont know...all help appreciated...very best wishes brian

"A threaded hole? There is a pressure/vacuum hole on the back of the fuel pump that faces up against the crankcase. Between the pump and the crankcase, sealing that diameter of that hole should be a thick gasket.

The pressure action of the piston traveling up and down is what operates the fuel pump via the location of that hole.

If that gasket is missing (303615), the fuel pump cannot function."
