"Hello. This is my first boat and have zero experience with outboards. I have a 15HP 2005 Honda engine. When I bought the boat, the engine started at once and worked perfectly. I recently learned that I made a big mistake, and didn't run the engine for many months!
I tried to run it for the first time in over half a year. I had new gas in the tank and a charged battery. It started at once, but then stalled less than 10 seconds later. I tried it many times, with the same result. I noticed that if I kept pumping the bulb on the fuel line (from the tank to the engine) it would stay running for longer; but never more than for half a minute. It seems like I've gummed things up. What should I do?
