Volvo 110s saildrive in gear for docking

Grateful for clarification or

Grateful for clarification or comment...if docking in a area with a steady current (flowing 1 - 2 knots) should the 110 saildrive be left in gear? Does it matter if it's in forward or reverse? Thanks.

Obviously,.... It needs to be In Gear to move the boat to it's berth,....."

I would recommend leaving it in gear so it reduces wear and tear on a 24/7 basis!!!!
