I recently bought a boat with

I recently bought a boat with 2003 honda 130's and had a survey done by a honda mechanic before purchase. both lower units needed to have new seals but the mechanic thought they were fine otherwise. I brought the boat in to a non honda dealer to have the seals replaced (mistake) and he could not get the plate inside the lower unit off to change the seals. has anyone else experienced these problems the mechanice tried it to get it to turn loose and still could not get it. Any help would be appreciated.

Yes the boat was in salt water and Im not sure how often the previous owner had the lower units serviced. When I bought it and had the survey the Honda mechanic couldnt pull up any engine info such as hours etc on his computer. Should you be able to hook up a computer to the 2003 models?

if these guys are certified marine guys they should be able to do it

Honda has had bad corrosion problems with there motors, so the smoke wrench might need to be used"
